I worked with several companies who have recently had problems with the performance of their Business Development team - on purpose, I do not call them to their sales teams, because therein lies the fundamental question. All are available to a greater or lesser degree, makes the main action, most people do not think so, and avoid as much as possible of all sales related sleep.
Specifically, anyone who communicates with others with the intent to influence others to do something for them in sales.
A child who wants ice cream, a Nintendo, or simply to stay until the end is for sale. A woman who wants to go out with the girls and the need for the husband feels for the children or to use a nanny is for sale. A member of the Online Business department who need access to all computers in your department, then you are all working to improve this for sale. Every politician is for sale (if you like it or not).
So if the sale is simply the art of influencing another person to make your bid why we are so petrified of her, why is it such a curse word? Simply because we are all afraid of rejection, to the point of putting us in a situation in which rejection can occur we can avoid it whenever possible. A classic example is that telemarketing is so brutal reputation, it is only because you're dealing with 45 rejection before you get a chance, maybe more.
